Happy, Joyous & Free Recovery Life Coaching, LLC is a vision that was given to me, Tim, the founder. In 2010, I accepted the calling into God’s service. I had been involved in the business community for several years, and found myself unfulfilled. As I grew in my faith in Christ, and developed greater recovery from my addictions and sin, I found myself wanting more. I had been told by friends for years that I had a gift for helping others. Like Jonah, I didn’t want this responsibility and attempted to avoid the call. Finally, while driving to work one day, to a job that was completely unfulfilling, I was having a discussion with God and with frustration and a desire to not accept the call, challenged God stating “Fine, if this is really what you want me to do, you are going to prove to me that I will be able to support my family”. Over the next two weeks, I was approached by 5 new men who were seeking assistance in their recovery. Seeing the sign, I immediately began pursuing the necessary education to help these men, and as many men and women as possible moving forward. Within two weeks of this acceptance, I had begun my educational journey. During undergraduate studies, I was provided the vision for a wellness mission which has morphed a great deal over the years, but always returns to the core focus of Happy, Joyous, & Free Recovery Life Coaching, which is to be of love and service to others in their respective journeys toward happiness in their lives, joyousness in their service to others, and freedom from the addictions and difficulties that keep them stuck in bondage to this world.
In 2016 my family and I relocated to the South Florida area, and I began working as a full-time primary therapist in the substance abuse treatment field. I continued to plan and dream about the vision God had provided, and seek to realize the mission I had been assigned. In February 2018, Happy, Joyous & Free Recovery Life Coaching, LLC became a reality and is actively seeking the opportunity to be of love and service to the children, and Kingdom of God. -Tim

I am a follower of Jesus Christ who has developed my passion for healthy, happy recovery from all problems and issues which separate us from complete functioning. I am a recovering alcoholic and addict who has been on the journey of recovery for over 20 years. Through my journey, I have come to realize that we are all struggling with something; perhaps not addiction to substances, but a fundamental flaw in our character which leaves us with a bent toward evil. For over 20 years, I struggled with the forces of evil in this world that separate us from God. After being given the gift of desperation, I have been in active pursuit of Happiness, Joyousness, and Freedom from that which destroys the peace of God in our lives. I am a Marine who served on active duty, and have worked with the homeless, substance abusing veterans who need the love of Christ to heal from the wounds of their lives, visible and invisible. I have also worked as a retail manager, on-board service attendant for the railroad, a Train Director, a Personnel Manager, Sales Manager, and President of a corporation. These roles were a part of the journey that led to accepting the call from God to service in the mental health arena. I fought this call for years, and ultimately threw my hands up in resignation and challenge, calling out to God in prayer, “Fine, if this is really what you want from me, you are going to prove to me that I can support my family”. Within two weeks, I was working with 5 new men in recovery. Two weeks later, I was enrolled in college and in full-time service to God. I attended Indiana University for undergraduate studies, and completed my master’s degree in counseling from Huntington University, in Huntington, IN. I received training and certification through the Townsend Institute as well. As Huntington is a United Brethren university, I received training in integrative psychology, which focuses on the integration of clinical psychology and theology. My life experiences, combined with my training, have provided a framework toward healing and development of a Happy, Joyous and Free way of life as is expressed in the Alcoholics Anonymous Big Book, which states “we are sure that God wants us to be happy, joyous, and free”. (pg. 133)
I have experience in leadership development, discipleship and spiritual development, marriage and family counseling, substance abuse recovery counseling, trauma, and biblical counseling. I have worked with all age demographics and populations.
